Marine Gateway Lands New Tenant – T&T Supermarket

Loblaw, the largest food retailer in the country, will open T&T Supermarket’s 10th location in Metro Vancouver at the much anticipated Marine Gateway.

“It’s a natural location for expansion of our brand,” says Cindy Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarket. “Residents and workers in south Vancouver have long been underserved because of a lack of grocery stores. T&T Supermarket will not only benefit those that live, work and visit Marine Gateway, but it will benefit the entire region, as well as people who use the Canada Line.”

Loblaw was established 95 years ago and today has more than one-thousand stores in Canada, with banners that include Superstore, Extra Foods, and NoFrills. T&T Supermarket has become the largest grocery chain of its kind with 20 locations across the country.

Marine Gateway, Vancouver’s largest development outside the downtown core and the first major development along the Vancouver portion of the Canada Line.

“With development slated for the Cambie Corridor over the next 20 years, this is a prime place to do business,” says Andrew Grant of PCI. “Retailers in our development at Cambie and Marine will be the anchor for the south end of the corridor, serving both the existing and future population.”

This announcement of T&T Supermarket as the second confirmed tenant at Marine Gateway follows on the heals of Cineplex announcing it will open a 1,940-seat theatre. The 11-screen theatre will offer a dynamic entertainment experience through new audio visual technology and VIP theatres, which include reserved seating, in-seat food service, and a lounge.

Marine Gateway is slated for completion in 2015.
